Lydia Maddix is an indie-pop/comedy artist, writer, filmmaker, producer and presenter on the rise; hailed as ‘hilarious and original’ by BBC Radio 1. Following a nationwide talent search, Lydia beat over 1,500 contenders to become one of E4’s ‘next generation of stars’.

Lydia has featured on E4's World's Greatest Weddings, CBBC's Blue Peter - You Decide!, BBC Radio London, BBC Radio Manchester and BBC Radio 1 where she interviewed Daniel Craig and Naomie Harris for the promotion of James Bond. Lydia also features in DeObia Oparei’s upcoming short film GIANTS.

The London / Bedfordshire based singer has already gained support from the likes of BBC Introducing and TV star Sam Faiers who said: “Too Cliché is my fav!” On top of that, her track ‘Walked All Over’ featured on Channel 4’s ‘Couples Come Dine With Me’ and VIBE 107.6 FM as their track of the week.

BBC Introducing have championed Lydia as ‘one to watch’ after she performed a live set for them of her tracks ‘Too cliché’, ‘Break Up Song’ and ‘Tempt Fate’. Lydia’s UK tour kicked off at O2 Academy Islington and concluded at Standon Calling Festival where she was hand-picked to represent the BBC Introducing stage, supporting the likes of Kate Nash, Mahalia and Wolf Alice. Additionally, she performed with KT Tunstall at British Summertime Festival for her comedy cooking project, ‘KT’s Kitchen’, creating its visuals too.

Her debut '93 EP has been well-received since its release with Mark Robinson, former creative director at ITV, praising Lydia as ‘mega-talented‘ and ‘super creative‘. Edward Adoo of BBC Introducing on BBC Three Counties Radio added: ‘look out for Lydia Maddix, she’s doing great things embracing pop music in a magical and dynamic way’. ’93 was produced by Adam Marc who has worked with You Me At Six, McFly and Don Broco.

Lydia has worked behind-the-scenes on award-winning TV shows for over five years and wrote Primula’s latest TV advert which broadcast across national television. During the summer, she performed her track Too Cliché to reality TV stars Sam & Billie Faiers who broadcast it live on Snapchat. Lydia then went on to perform a duet with Katie Price of a comedy song she penned about Katie's docu-reality series ‘Katie Price’s Pony Club’.

Lydia’s catchy choruses, exploration of relatable narratives and fresh blend of indie and comedy-pop continues to win her fans and exciting opportunities. With a successful EP and tour under her belt, and an album’s worth of material now written, there’s no telling what’s next for the artist in the hat.
